Safety

All racing is conducted at National Hot Rod Association approved tracks.  Technical inspections of each vehicle that races ensures that they meet the NHRA safety guidelines.  The BCSSMA encourages students to learn and enjoy racing in an environment that is a safe alternative to the street.

Knowledge

Students can race their own/parent’s vehicles and most schools also have a school race car (or cars) that students help build and maintain.  Valuable mechanical, troubleshooting, and communication skills are practiced and developed through participation in a drag racing program.

Racing

Students get to participate in both Test and Tune practice runs to develop their racing skills and Elimination rounds, where they can accumulate points throughout the season.  Trophies and prizes are awarded in multiple categories.
